Pandamonium at the Adelaide Fringe

I’ve gone ape with Pandas for this year’s Fringe. I was asked to come up with a print on the theme of SA Icons for an exhibition at the Santos building at Adelaide Zoo. So there was one obvious choice….

Exhibition at Red Poles

Until Jan 10 you can see an exhibition called ‘Showtime’ at Red Poles Gallery and Restaurant in Maclaren Vale. It includes some new prints on the theme of the circus that I am currently developing. I first felt inspired to work on this theme when I took my children to a Russian travelling circus in England more than 10 years ago.

"Adoration"

As from Friday November 6, you will be able to purchase “A Disastrous Honeymoon”, an illustrated epic poem for short attention spans, from Alice & Co, 159 Brunswick St, Fitzroy Vic 3065.

This is the as yet untold story of what happened to the Owl and the Pussycat the day after they danced by the light of the silvery moon. Have you ever wondered how they prospered on their honeymoon? A gripping tale of love, passion, courage and nail-biting adventure on the high seas.

Illustrated with reproductions of the original etchings which can be viewed at Alice & Co on Sundays and Wednesday afternoons and at other times by appointment.

Accompanied on the walls by: “A Rodent Romance”, a drama in infinite and interchangeable episodes, featuring two lovestruck rabbits – or are they hares?

Plus assorted dogs, pigs and cats that seem to have got in by the back door. Etchings and relief prints, framed and unframed, with souvenir cards to buy if you can’t afford the originals.

It’s freezing in the Adelaide Hills at the moment, but the rabbits don’t care – they are tangoing away on the top of Mt Lofty…. or is it the Alps, the Andes, or perhaps the Pyrenees?

If you are in Melbourne, you can view my work at Alice & Co, a new gallery which has recently opened at 159 Brunswick St, Fitzroy. A collection of rabbit prints (as well as a few dogs, pigs and a spider) under the title, ‘A Rodent Romance’ is on display there until October, on Wednesdays and Sunday afternoons. They were exhibited at the Brunswick Street Gallery in April, and they liked Melbourne so much they decided to stay.
